Hey, there’s lead in my vinegar!

Did you know that balsamic vinegar contains lead? I noticed an interesting little warning on my vinegar bottle yesterday:

Apparently all black vinegars have a little lead in them, I’m not sure why. So don’t feed it to your toddler.

Weird! This makes me want to go inspect my vinegar bottle…

@Holly I was talking to a friend of mine who knows a lot bout food and he said there’s trace amounts of lead in all black vinegars. Apparently it’s not a big deal, just don’t chug gallons of it and don’t eat it while pregnant? But I don’t know. I don’t think I’m ever going to enjoy it as much again.

Hmm…that is curious. I’ll have to scope some stuff out at work if I get the time.

@mike I was hoping you’d chime in on this one. Will was the one who said all black vinegars have lead in them, so I believe it. Btw, I got your message and I’d love to hang out this week. Probably Wednesday or Thursday?
