]]> By: dotlizard http://calinazaret.net/existentialist-rant-0/comment-page-1#comment-116 dotlizard Wed, 13 Aug 2008 06:57:01 +0000 http://calinazaret.net/?p=27#comment-116 from the very first time i got on the internet, i was hooked. i spent so much time defending myself against well-meaning friends who wanted me to "get off the computer" and go do something that was less fun, finally i came to the conclusion that i am not anti-social, they're antitechnical. since i've managed to earn a pretty decent living making websites, people don't bug me about it anymore. haha i was right! again! :) and now, with the amazing array of social media out there, i'm finding that i'm very, very happy with the friendships i've developed online. i don't think you'd be "just a blip on the radar", i'm sure there would be a lot of people that would miss you. i myself went through a rough patch for a good three, four years before putting myself back online, and many of my old friends from back then were *still* checking the places they figured i'd be, looking for me. i had all this "you're back" and all. so you know, don't discount the online friendships because they're virtual. virtual has become pretty darn actual lately. from the very first time i got on the internet, i was hooked. i spent so much time defending myself against well-meaning friends who wanted me to “get off the computer” and go do something that was less fun, finally i came to the conclusion that i am not anti-social, they’re antitechnical.
